Principles Of LIFE

* Winning isn't everything. But wanting to win is.

* You would achieve more, if you don't mind who gets the credit.

* When everything else is lost, the future still remains.

* Don't fight too much. Or the enemy would know your art of war.

* The only job you start at the top is when you dig a grave.

* If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for everything.

* If you do little things well, you'll do big ones better.

* Only thing that comes to you without effort is old age.

* You won't get a second chance to make the first impression.

* Only those who do nothing do not make mistakes.

* Never take a problem to your boss unless you have a solution.

* If you are not failing you're not taking enough risks.

* Don't try to get rid of bad temper by losing it.

* If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you.

* Those who don't make mistakes usually don't make anything

* There are two kinds of failures. Those who think and never do, and those who do and never think.

* Pick battles big enough to matter, small enough to win.

* All progress has resulted from unpopular decisions.

* Change your thoughts and you change your world.

* Understanding proves intelligence, not the speed of the learning.

* There are two kinds of fools in this world. Those who give advise and those who don't take it.

* The best way to kill an idea is to take it to a meeting.

* Management is doing things right. Leadership is doing the right things.

* Friendship founded on business is always better than business founded o

Someone in my heart beyond all my pride,
Holds a secret desire so intense deep inside.

Imprisoned with all my passion and love,

Unknown to anyone but the lord up above.

A desire for someone to cherish and hold,

The need for love to call my own.

Someone who keeps me shining day and night,

Someone to kiss and make up with after a fight.

Someone who appreciates and respects all I can be,

Someone who's strong enough to commit and love only me.

Someone who will be there to kiss away my tears,

Secure my doubts and release my fears.

Someone who can restore my faith in love once again.

This love is like a dream that has yet to become true,

Or to believed until I found you...

11 Rules for Heathy Friendship

1. It hurts to love someone and not be loved in return, But what is more
painful is to love someone and never find the courage
to let that person know how you feel.

2. A sad thing in life is when you meet someone who means a lot to you,
only to find out in the end that it was never meant to be
and you just have to let go.

3. The best kind of friend is the kind you can sit on a porch swing with,
never say a word, and then walk away feeling like it was the best
conversation you've ever had.

4. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's
also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
5. It takes only a minute to get a crush on someone, an hour to like
someone, and a day to love someone-but it takes a lifetime
to forget someone.

6. Don't go for looks; they can deceive. Don't go for wealth; even that
fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile because it takes only a
smile to make a dark day seem bright.
7. Dream what you want to dream; go where you want to go; be what you
want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the
things you want to do.

8. Always put yourself in the others shoes. If you feel that it hurts you,
it probably hurts the person too.

9. A careless word may kindle strife; a cruel word may wreck a life; a
timely word may level stress; a loving word may heal and bless.

10. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything
they just make the most of everything that comes along their way.

11. Love begins with a smile, grows with a kiss, ends with a tear. When you
were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling.
Live your life so that when you die, you're the one smiling
and everyone around you is crying.

Can you change your life in few minutes ???

A minute can be as powerful as an hour, if only you use it well. Cosmo tells you how.

Get smarter
Research reveals that solving crossword puzzles stimulates the brain, improves memory and ups your vocab. Also, it distracts the mind from problems and challenges the brain in a non-stressful way. Lesson: spend a couple of minutes a day working a puzzle.

Be an artist
A study published in Applied Cognitive Psychology, Southern England showed that people who doodled retained more information than those who didn't. (Especially at boring conferences and seminars.)

Check your balance
Spending a few minutes balancing your checkbook, noting expenses, and organising bills, will help you handle expenses, plan better, and also prepare for future tax work. Doing it in small installments also makes it a lot less annoying.

In a recent study, University College, London, researchers noted that drinking a cup of tea, four to six times a day, reduces stress hormone levels in your body. Here's a tip to brew it perfectlyleave the bag in the water for at least two minutes, and keep the cup covered while the tea is brewing.

Dehydration is one of the key reasons of fatigue. If you drink less than eight glasses of water a day, you may be sluggish. Use every free minute to drink as much water as possible. Try it for a week and watch your general energy levels rise.

Floss away
Dentists keep saying it, and we'll say it again: flossing removes bacteria, prevents gum disease and the loss of teeth. Spend a minute or two each day to remove the bacteria between your teeth.

Take the time to clear your drawers of old receipts, papers and trash you've been collecting over the months. "Simplifying your life in any way can help you find more balance, says US-based Denise Landers, CEO of Key Organisation Systems Inc.

Scientists say the effects of laughter and exercise are quite similar. You may not have time for a full-fledged cardio session, but you can take out three minutes to watch a funny clip on YouTube.

Breathing correctly can cure anxiety. The right way to do it: stand up, stretch and take a couple of deep breaths. Stretch your arms, back, legs, and neck. Take a deep breath through your nose, hold it, and let it out slowly and forcefully. Repeat several times.

Make morning time planning time. Set goals, write them down and place them where you'll see them all day. It will give you a sense of control and empowerment.

Not too much, but if you're going to have some candy, pick chocolate. Research reveals that we get an endorphin buzz from chocolate and an energy boost from the slight bit of caffeine in it. You'll agree, it's a delicious way to use spare time.

Learn a word
Sign up for a website that will deliver a new word to your inbox every day, then spend a couple of minutes learning it. In a month, you'll have a brand new, impressive vocabulary.

Sitting in the same position for hours can be exhausting. Roll up and down on your toes. This stimulates your circulatory system, and delivers oxygen and glucose throughout your body.

Studies in music therapy show that singing promotes wellness, manages stress, and improves communication. Most songs last about three minutes, so sing your favourite out loud.

Make a call
Lost touch with people? Make a short call to one person every day, just to say hiit could be an old friend from college, an ex colleague, or someone you'd like to network with. Repeat that call after one month.

Change of scene
Browse the Internet to find a soothing natural scene as your desktop background. Studies conducted by the University of Washington have reaffirmed nature's restorative powers and capability to reduce stress.

Look away
Research has found out that taking visual breaks can relieve sore eyes. Every two hours or so, look at an object 20 feet away for a few seconds. This will relax your eye muscles, instantly.

Creating e-mail filters will help you keep your inbox free from unwanted mails. Make separate folders so that the next time you are searching for a super important e-mail, you won't waste any time locating it.

Update your resume
Keeping your resume up-to-date means when a great job opportunity comes your way, you won't be rushing to add stuff.

A lovely letter from GOD

If you never felt pain, then how would you know that I am a Healer?

If you never had to pray, How would you know that I am a Deliverer?

If you never had a trial, how could you call yourself an overcomer?

If you never felt sadness, How would you know that I am a Comforter?

If you never made a mistake, How would you know that I am a forgiver?

If you knew all, How would you know that I will answer your questions?

If you never were in trouble, How would you know that I will come to your rescue

If you never were broken, Then how would you know that I can make you whole?

If you never had a problem,How would you know that I can solve them?

If you never had any suffering, Then how would you know what I went through?

If you never went through the fire, Then how would you become pure?
If I gave you all things, How would you appreciate them?

If I never corrected you, How would you know that I love you?

If you had all power, Then how would you learn to depend on me?

If your life was perfect, Then what would you need me for?

Please send this letter of god to as many friends as you can. GOD is Great!

The Art of Giving...!!!

"Rivers do not drink their own water, nor do tree eat their own fruit, nor do rain clouds eat the grains reared by them. The wealth of the noble is used solely for the benefit of others?
Even after accepting that giving is good and that one must learn to give, several questions need to be answered.
The first question is when should one give?
We all know the famous incident from the Mahabharata.
Yudhisthir, asks a beggar seeking alms to come the next day. On this, Bhim rejoices, that Yudhisthir his brother, has conquered death! For he is sure that he will be around tomorrow to give. Yudhisthir gets the message.
One does not know really whether one will be there tomorrow to give! The time to give therefore is now.
The next question is how much to give.
One recalls the famous incident from history. Rana Pratap was reeling after defeat from the Moghals. He had lost his army, he had lost his wealth, and most important he had lost hope, his will to fight. At that time in his darkest hour, his erstwhile minister Bhamasha came seeking him and placed his entire fortune at the disposal of Rana Pratap. With this, Rana Pratap raised an army and lived to fight another day.

The answer to this question how much to give is "Give as much as you can!
The next question is what to give. It is not only money that can be given. It could be a flower or even a smile.
It is not how much one gives but how one gives that really matters. When you give a smile to a stranger that may be the only good thing received by him in days and weeks! "You can give anything but you must give with your heart!
One also needs answer to this question whom to give.
Many times we avoid giving by finding fault with the person who is seeking. However, being judgmental and rejecting a person on the presumption that he may not be the most deserving is not justified. "Give without being judgmental!
Next we have to answer How to give
Coming to the manner of giving, one has to ensure that the receiver does not feel humiliated, nor does the giver feel proud by giving. In giving follow the advice, '
Let not your left hand know what your right hand gives? Charity without publicity and fanfare is the highest form of charity. 'Give quietly!
While giving let not the recipient feel small or humiliated. After all what we give never really belonged to us. We come to this world with nothing and will go with nothing. The thing gifted was only with us for a temporary period. Why then take pride in giving away something which really did not belong to us? Give with grace and with a feeling of gratitude. When you help someone in need, give it before he asks for it; for if you place him under the necessity of stretching out his hand, you take away from him his self-respect which is worth more than the value of your alms.

What should one feel after giving?
We all know the story of Eklavya. When Dronacharya asked him for his right thumb as "Guru Dakshina", he unhesitatingly cut off the thumb and gave it to Dronacharya.
There is a little known sequel to this story. Eklavya was asked whether he ever regretted the act of giving away his thumb. He replied, and the reply has to be believed to be true, as it was asked to him when he was dying. His reply was "Yes! I regretted this only once in my life. It was when Pandavas were coming in to kill Dronacharya who was broken hearted on the false news of death of his son Ashwathama and had stopped fighting. It was then that I regretted the loss of my thumb. If the thumb was there, no one could have dared hurt my Guru.
The message to us is clear. Give and never regret giving!
And the last question is How much should we provide for our heirs?
Ask yourself 'are we taking away from them the gift of work'? - A source of happiness! The answer is given by Warren Buffett: "Leave your kids enough to do anything, but not enough to do nothing!
I would conclude by saying: let us learn the Art of Giving, and quoting Saint Kabir:
"When the wealth in the house increases, when water fills a boat, Throw them out with both hands"

25 Paise Coins are History

Well, to be honest, this news might be irrelevant to most people (including me) but still it is good to know about the monetary developments in our country. So, here we go!!!

What happened to the 25 Paise coins?

Actually speaking nothing has happened yet. The Reserve Bank of India has declared that Starting June 30 2011, 25 paise coins will no longer be a legal monetary tender in India. This essentially means that, there will no longer be items priced as Rs. 7.25 or Rs. 7.75/- after June 30th 2011.
The bottom line is: 25 paise coins are worthless by end of June and you cannot use them as a legal money tender in India

Why did the Government do this?

Probably because the prices of goods in India have risen so high that a 25 paise doesn't make much value or sense to be used as a legal currency. There was a line that I read in a news article on the reaction of someone about this 25 paise coins
Even beggars don't accept 25 paise coins, so why should we use the coins?

Well, that's the biggest driving factor, 25 paise has literally no value in todays economy.

What should we do now?

Practically speaking Nothing. But, if you are a coin collector and have hundreds of 25 paise coins lying around, you can give them all in your nearest nationalized bank and get them converted to rupees.

Caution: Banks will accept 25 paise coins only till close of business June 29th 2011. So, if you have any 25 paise coins after that date, you cannot do anything with it.

On a casual note: you can always keep them safely and give your grand children and say, these are the coins we used when we were your age

Has the Government done this before?

Oh yes. In the last decade, the government has phased out 5 paise, 10 paise and 20 paise coins. Next is the 25 paise which is being phased out now and I guess even the 50 paise coins will be phased out in the near future.

So, if you are someone in your 20's like me, our children may not get a chance to use the 50 paise coins when they become old enough to ask you for money to buy candy like we pestered our Moms :-)

What will the Government do with all these coins collected?

For now, they haven't decided anything. They are planning to melt them and then maybe re-cast them into coins of higher denomination, maybe 1 rupee or 2 rupee coins.

Who will be affected by this?

The biggest losers because of this decision by our government are the kids in our country. You can get nice candies for 25 paise even today in the local roadside small shops.

Imagine, a daily wage worker, he cant afford a dairy milk like we can. He cant spend 10 rupees of his income (probably 5 or 10% of his daily salary) on a chocolate. But what he can afford is 25 paise or 50 paise to keep his kid happy. After all, he is a father and he has to keep his kid happy. He can afford to give his kid 50 paise and the kid happily gets two candies for that money.

Now that 25 paise is no longer a valid currency, those kids may get only one kid instead of two because all retailers and manufacturers will have to re-work their pricing strategy to ensure that their prices don't end with 25 paise.
What am I gonna do?
Well, I don't have a stash of 25 paise coins that I can exchange in my bank. But, what I will do is, keep the ten or so 25 paise coins I have safely so that I can show it to my son, just like the 5, 10 and 20 paise coins I have.

Happy Coin Collecting!!!

Stay away from Anger... It hurts ... Only You!!!

The Buddha explained how to handle insult and maintain compassion. One day Buddha was walking through a village. A very angry and rude young man came up and began insulting him. "You have no right teaching others, he shouted." You are as stupid as everyone else. You are nothing but a fake."

Buddha was not upset by these insults. Instead he asked the young man "Tell me, if you buy a gift for someone, and that person does not take it, to whom does the gift belong?"

The man was surprised to be asked such a strange question and answered, "It would belong to me, because I bought the gift."

The Buddha smiled and said, "That is correct. And it is exactly the same with your anger. If you become angry with me and I do not get insulted, then the anger falls back on you. You are then the only one who becomes unhappy, not me. All you have done is hurt yourself."

"If you want to stop hurting yourself, you must get rid of your anger and become loving instead. When you hate others, you yourself become unhappy. But when you love others, everyone is happy."

The young man listened closely to these wise words of the Buddha. "You are right, o Enlightened One, "he said. "Please teach me the path of love. I wish to become your follower."

The Buddha answered kindly, "Of course. I teach anyone who truly wants to learn. Come with me."
