You Are What You Think

Your inner thoughts can cause you to be rich or poor,
loved or unloved, happy or unhappy, attractive
or unattractive, powerful or weak.

What you impress upon your mind, you'll inevitably become.
It's a psychological law that whatever you desire to accomplish
you must first impress upon your subconscious mind.

Relentless, repetitive self talk will change yourself image.
You'll affect your subconscious mind with verbal repetition.
Constant repetition carries conviction.

When you change your values you'll change your behavior.
Start thinking of yourself as becoming the person you want to be.
Self suggestion will make you the master of yourself.

If you believe you can, you can.
You can become whatever you want to be.

Three Things...........!!

Three things to respect-
Old Age, religion and law.

Three things to love-
Purity, Honesty and hard work.

Three things to cultivate -
Courage, cheerfulness and Contentment.

Three things to maintain -
Promise, friendship and Affection.

Three things to control -
Tongue, Temper and Temptation.

Three things to watch-
Speech, behavior and action.

Three things to prevent -
Laziness, falsehood and Slander.

Darkness Is Where I Walk Alone...!!

I walks along this lonely street
no one to dry My tears
massage My tired feet
or calm ever present fears

Seeing life through tainted heart
making everything gray
Alone, my life, anew to start
Always searching for a way

But life goes on no matter what
That fact I cannot quell
Memories ne'er to be forgotten
Within Ma heart they dwell

So I keep walking this lonely street
Keep searching to find my way
Every night I lie down to sleep
And pray let tomorrow be a better day........

I feared being alone,
Until I learned to like myself.
I feared failure,
Until I realized that I only fail when I don't try.
I feared success,
Until I realized That I had to try In order to be happy with myself.
I feared people's opinions,
Until I learned that people would have opinions about me anyway.
I feared rejection,
Until I learned to have faith in myself.
I feared pain,
Until I learned that it's necessary for growth.
I feared the truth,
Until I saw the ugliness in lies.
I feared life
Until I experienced its beauty.
I feared death,
Until I realized that it's not an end, but a beginning.
I feared my destiny,
Until I realized that I had the power to change my life.
I feared hate,
Until I saw that it was nothing more than ignorance.
I feared love,
Until it touched my heart, making the
darkness fade into endless sunny days.
I feared ridicule,
Until I learned how to laugh at myself.
I feared growing old,
Until I realized that I gained wisdom every day.
I feared the future,
Until I realized that Life just kept getting better.
I feared the past,
Until I realized that It could no longer hurt me.
I feared the dark,
Until I saw the beauty of the starlight.
I feared the light,
Until I learned that the truth would give me strength.
I feared change,
Until I saw that even the most beautiful butterfly
Had to undergo a metamorphos is before it could fly.

Two Days We Should Not Worry....!!

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry,
two days which should be kept free from fear and apprehension.

One of these days is Yesterday with all its mistakes and cares,
its faults and blunders, its aches and pains.

Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control.
All the money in the world cannot bring back Yesterday.

We cannot undo a single act we performed;
we cannot erase a single word we said.
Yesterday is gone forever.

The other day we should not worry about is Tomorrow
with all its possible adversities, its burdens,
its large promise and its poor performance;
Tomorrow is also beyond our immediate control.

Tomorrow's sun will rise,
either in splendor or behind a mask of clouds, but it will rise.
Until it does, we have no stake in Tomorrow,
for it is yet to be born.

This leaves only one day, Today.
Any person can fight the battle of just one day.
It is when you and I add the burdens of those two awful eternities
Yesterday and Tomorrow that we break down.

It is not the experience of Today that drives a person mad,
it is the remorse or bitterness of something which happened Yesterday
and the dread of what Tomorrow may bring.

Let us, therefore, Live but one day at a time.

Smile at Life :)

No matter what else you have or do not have, you have the
Beautiful experience of life. No matter what may have
Happened before, or what might come next, you have this

Now is when you can make it count. Now is when you are
Connected with unbounded opportunities to make a positive

Don't waste your time complaining about what you lack or
Worrying about what you might lose. Invest the best of what
You have in this moment to create new value.

If you choose to be annoyed or resentful, you'll only drag
Yourself down. Instead, challenge yourself to be more
Positive and effective than you've ever been, right now.

Smile at life, even when life has not smiled at you first.
Be the first one to initiate goodness, and you'll be the
First one to benefit from that goodness.

You are here, and there is nothing to fear. Count your
Blessings, and before you're finished counting you'll have
Even more.

The Ant Philosophy .......!!!

I think everybody should study ants. They have an amazing four-part philosophy.
Here is the first part: Ants never quit. That's a good philosophy. If they're headed somewhere and you try to stop them; they'll look for another way. They'll climb over, they'll climb under, they'll climb around. They keep looking for another way. What a neat philosophy, to never quit looking for a way to get where you're supposed to go.

Second, ants think winter all summer. That's an important perspective. You can't be so naive as to think summer will last forever. So ants are gathering in their winter food in the middle of summer.

An ancient story says, "Don't build your house on the sand in the summer." Why do we need that advice? Because it is important to be realistic. In the summer, you've got to think storm. You've got to think rocks as you enjoy the sand and sun. Think ahead.

The third part of the ant philosophy is that ants think summer all winter. That is so important. During the winter, ants remind themselves, "This won't last long; we'll soon be out of here." And the first warm day, the ants are out. If it turns cold again, they'll dive back down, but then they come out the first warm day. They can't wait to get out.

And here's the last part of the ant philosophy. How much will an ant gather during the summer to prepare for the winter? All that he possibly can. What an incredible philosophy, the "all-that-you-possibly-can" philosophy.

So that's what the ant philosophy covers -
Never give up, look ahead, stay positive and do all you can.

Living in the Present: Some Practical Tips

One more reason why it is difficult for some people to live in the present is that they don't know themselves well enough, and they secretly don't love themselves. This is why they are on a rush, trying to escape from themselves. Once we get down to the core of this issue, once we know and accept ourselves, many of our pressing problems will be resolved. When we stop behaving in an ignorant and unfriendly way toward ourselves, our life becomes transformed.
However, I am not going to elaborate upon this theme. I would rather suggest several practical tips for living in the present - something which we can use in our daily life.

Be mindful of your breath. There is no need to use sophisticated breathing techniques - just pay attention as you breathe in and breathe out. Try to breathe deeply and slowly. Try to enjoy this process. This is such an easy thing to do, and yet if you will try it for a certain time, you will find yourself to be more peaceful and calm. If will be much easier for you to stay mentally detached from your past and your future.

Be mindful of your physical feelings. Ask yourself: how do I feel right now? Am I sitting in a comfortable position? Do I feel comfortable about shoes and clothes I wear, and about the things around me? What is my body trying to tell me? Again, this is an easy thing to do - but so many people go through life ignoring their feelings, until a moment their bodies begin to scream. When we get in touch with our feelings on a day-to-day basis, we open ourselves to its guidance and valuable suggestions.

Do not rush. Sometimes we are so afraid to be late on something that we don't realize that the world does not depend upon us for its survival. Of course, it is good to be always on time - but a wise person knows that it can be better achieved not by intensity of efforts, but by careful planning. As you plan your day, give yourself more time to do the important things, and eliminate the non-important things as much as possible. You might do them if you will have spare time, or don't do them at all. If you have an appointment, try to come in advance. But if you are still late, don't feel guilty about it. Next time, you will be even more wiser.

Be grateful for the delays. When you are in a traffic jam, or if you are standing in a line, try not to be angry or upset like some others. Rather, realize that this delay is a gift. You have a chance to be alone with yourself for a minute or so, without being distracted. Watch for your breath and for your physical feelings, try to become relaxed. Say a simple affirmation or two. Smile to yourself. Look at people around you with sympathetic eyes. In an instant, your tension will go away, and you will get in touch with joyous spirit of the present moment.

About Life

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow
Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust return-est,
Was not spoken of the soul.

Where there is love there is life.

St. Augustine
"People travel to wonder at the height of the mountains,
at the huge waves of the seas, at the long course of the rivers,
at the vast compass of the ocean, at the circular motion of the stars,
and yet they pass by themselves without wondering."

Sri Chinmoy

The aim of life is to live a divine life. We are living in this world. We know that man does not live by bread alone. He needs the soul in order to live in the world of God's Reality. The soul alone has the capacity to see and feel the known and the Unknown, the existent and the non-existent, the dream of the past, the achievement of the present and the hope of the future.

- Sri Chinmoy

Let us accept the inner life, the spiritual life. Mistakes in our journey are inevitable. Success without endeavor is impossibility itself. No work, no progress. Experience we must welcome, for we can learn nothing without experience. The experience may be either encouraging or discouraging. But it is experience that makes us a real being, that shows us the true meaning of our very existence.

Mother Teresa
Life is an opportunity, benefit from it.
Life is beauty, admire it.
Life is bliss, taste it.
Life is a dream, realize it.
Life is a challenge, meet it.
Life is a duty, complete it.
Life is a game, play it.
Life is a promise, fulfill it.
Life is sorrow, overcome it.
Life is a song, sing it.
Life is a struggle, accept it.
Life is a tragedy, confront it.
Life is an adventure, dare it.
Life is luck, make it.
Life is too precious, do not destroy it.
Life is life, fight for it

Albert Einstein
"There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as if everything is."

Abraham Lincoln
And in the end, it's not the years in your life
that count. It's the life in your years.

Emily Dickinson
If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain.
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Thich Nhat Hanh
Life can be found only in the present moment.
The past is gone, the future is not yet here,
and if we do not go back to ourselves in the present moment,
we cannot be in touch with life.

One of the best arguments i have ever read must read

Don’t miss even a single word…. It’s Too good
An atheist professor of philosophy speaks to his class on the problem science has with God, The Almighty.
He asks one of his new students to stand and…..

 So you believe in God?
: Absolutely, sir.
 Is God good?
: Sure.
 Is God all-powerful?
My brother died of cancer even though he prayed to God to heal him. Most of us would attempt to help others who are ill. But God didn’t. How is this God good then? Hmm?
(Student is silent.)
You can’t answer, can you? Let’s start again, young fella. Is God good?
 Is Satan good?
 Where does Satan come from?
That’s right. Tell me son, is there evil in this world?
Evil is everywhere, isn’t it? And God did make everything. Correct?
 So who created evil?
(Student does not answer.)
Is there sickness? Immorality? Hatred? Ugliness? All these terrible things exist in the world, don’t they?
 Yes, sir.
 So, who created them?
(Student has no answer.)
Science says you have 5 senses you use to identify and observe the world around you. Tell me, son…Have you ever seen God?
 No, sir.
Tell us if you have ever heard your God?
 No, sir.
Have you ever felt your God, tasted your God, smelt your God? Have you ever had any sensory perception of God for that matter?
 No, sir. I’m afraid I haven’t.
Yet you still believe in Him?
According to empirical, testable, demonstrable protocol, science says your GOD doesn’t exist.
What do you say to that, son?
Nothing. I only have my faith.
Yes. Faith. And that is the problem science has.
Professor, is there such a thing as heat?
And is there such a thing as cold?
 No sir. There isn’t.
(The lecture the after becomes very quiet with this turn of events.)
Sir, you can have lots of heat, even more heat, superheat, mega heat, white heat, a little heat or no heat..
But we don’t have anything called cold. We can hit 458 degrees below zero which is no heat, but we can’t go any further after that. There is no such thing as cold. Cold is only a word we use to describe the absence of heat. We cannot measure cold. Heat is energy Cold is not the opposite of heat, sir, just the absence of it .
(There is pin-drop silence in the lecture theatre.)
What about darkness, Professor? Is there such a thing as darkness?
Yes. What is night if there isn’t darkness?
Student :
You’re wrong again, sir. Darkness is the absence of something. You can have low light, normal light, bright
light, flashing light…..But if you have no light constantly, you have nothing and it’s called darkness, isn’t it? In reality, darkness isn’t. If it were you would be able to make darkness darker, wouldn’t you?
So what is the point you are making, young man?
Sir, my point is your philosophical premise is flawed.
 Flawed? Can you explain how?
Sir, you are working on the premise of duality. You argue there is life and then there is death, a good God and a bad God. You are viewing the concept of God as something finite, something we can measure. Sir, science can’t even explain a thought.. It uses electricity and magnetism, but has never seen, much less fully understood either one.To view death as the opposite of life is to be ignorant of the fact that death cannot exist as a substantive thing. Death is
not the opposite of life: just the absence of it.
Now tell me, Professor.Do you teach your students that they evolved from a monkey?
If you are referring to the natural evolutionary process, yes, of course, I do.
Have you ever observed evolution with your own eyes, sir?
(The Professor shakes his head with a smile, beginning to realize where the argument is going.)
Since no one has ever observed the process of evolution at work and cannot even prove that this process is an on-going endeavor, are you not teaching your opinion, sir? Are you not a scientist but a preacher? (The class is in uproar.)
Is there anyone in the class who has ever seen the Professor’s brain?
(The class breaks out into laughter.)
: Is there anyone here who has ever heard the Professor’s brain, felt it, touched or smelt it? No one appears to have done so. So, according to the established rules of empirical, stable, demonstrable protocol, science says that you have no brain, sir. With all due respect, sir, how do we then trust your lectures, sir?
(The room is silent. The professor stares at the student, his face unfathomable.)
I guess you’ll have to take them on faith, son.
That is it sir… The link between man & god is FAITH . That is all that keeps things moving & alive.
….this is a true story, and the
student was none other than …….
APJ Abdul Kalam, the former President of India.

The Six Keys To Success

1. Attitude
Bloom where you are planted. You have a choice to get back up after temporary set backs. Attitude is a small thing that makes a big difference!

2. Direction

If you don't know where you are going, any road will get you there. Write your short term goals down on paper. I have discovered and continue to discover that putting your dreams and goals down on paper lock in or focus your belief that they can be achieved--even if you have to take a course correction in achieving your goals. Success comes in cans, failure comes in can'ts.

3. Values

Explore what is important to you. Maybe it is family, friends, your spirituality or working hard at any given task. I can assure you that your priorities will change as you grow older. Very important that you value yourself and treat yourself like the valuable gift from God that you are.

4. Interests

Birds of a feather flock together. This is to say that if you are hanging around winners or others with a "can do" mind-set, you'll likely adapt to this same kind of thinking. Remember--"SUCCESS LEAVES CLUES!

5. Commitment

Feelings may change, commitments do not. "Success is getting up one more time than you fall." I have often wanted to give up, and then I must think to myself about what the consequences of giving up will be. Generally, this is more than enough of a motivation to make us stick to the task at hand even if we don't feel like it. When the task is achieved, Whow!--IT FEELS GREAT!

6. Encouragement

Be an encourager and comforter to friends that are feeling discouraged. I promise that you will not regret this as you will be encouraged by one, if not many, when you are feeling down. Encouragement and love are contagious qualities that can change the minds of the most stubborn and "hard-to-get- along-with" people you know. I have seen it happen over and over again.
